About

Astrid Steiner lives in London and creates video projections for the stage, spanning genres from symphonic music to opera. What began in 2003 with visuals in Viennese techno clubs has evolved into international performances at venues such as the Staatstheater Wiesbaden, the Tiroler Festspiele in Erl, the Copenhagen Phil, the Expo 2010 in Shanghai, and the Benaki Museum in Athens.

Recent productions directed by Daniela Kerck include Turandot (2024), Oryx & Crake (music by Søren Eichberg, 2023), and Rusalka (2023), all at the Staatstheater Wiesbaden. In 2024, Astrid created a visual film for Dvořák's 9th Symphony as part of the Melodrama concert series with the Copenhagen Phil, a show integrating holographic projections.

In advertising and television, Astrid has contributed as a video editor to numerous award-winning productions. The Eurovision Song Contest opener, viewed by over 200 million people worldwide, received Gold at the Corporate Media Awards in Cannes, the World Media Award in Hamburg, and the Golden Award of Montreux (2016).

Brands and TV stations Astrid has collaborated with include Sotheby’s, the FA Cup England, the English Rugby Union, the London Olympics 2012, and Red Bull TV.
